Jessica and I grew up in Murfreesboro, TN and have known each other since at least 2nd grade. Separate paths lead us both to Denver, CO where we reunited over our passion for winter sports. I moved out to Denver, Colorado after graduating college in 2014 to enjoy all things the mountain life offered. Jessica lived in Nashville for a few years until she started travel nursing where she lived all over the United States before taking an assignment in Denver.
We began car pooling to the mountains together and got to spend plenty of time in I70 ski traffic getting to know each other again. Being a snowboarder I like to joke that I never thought my favorite person to go to the mountains with would be a skier.
In January of 2020, Jessica and I began our winter vanlife adventures with our first stop in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. On the last day of our trip it began dumping snow which was exactly what I had been waiting for, the perfect powder day. We went down a run called Alarm Clock whooping and hollering, excited for the fresh fallen snow. We had so much fun we decided to do it again. Half way down I pulled off into the trees where Jess kept telling me to turn the camera off! She was clueless as I dropped to one knee. I proposed and she said "YES"! And we skied off happily ever after.
Engagement PhotosJessica and I eloped off Loveland Pass Road, a high mountain pass in the Rocky Mountains topping out at 11,990 feet above sea level! Using snowshoes we hiked up to the spot and began our intimate ceremony. We wrote our own vows and are so excited to begin the next journey of our lives together! Afterwards we did a ski run down the pass and headed off to an incredible dinner in Silverthorne.
